NAME

uuid_hash- creates a hash value for a UUID

SYNOPSIS

#include <dce/uuid.h>

unsigned16 uuid_hash( uuid_t *uuid, unsigned32 *status);

PARAMETERS

Input

uuid
Specifies the UUID for which a hash value is created. Supply NULL to specify a null UUID for this argument.

Output

status
Returns the status code from this routine. This status code indicates whether the routine completed successfully or, if not, why not.

Possible status codes and their meanings include:

uuid_s_ok
Success.

DESCRIPTION

The uuid_hash() routine generates a hash value for a specified UUID.

RETURN VALUE

Returns a hash value for the specified UUID.

Note that the return value for a single uuid value may differ between implementations.
