NAME
TOGAF 8 CERTIFIED
LABEL FOR LOGO
TOGAF 8 CERTIFIED
When this logo is used in relation to an individual registered as
conformant to this Product Standard, it must be accompanied by an
attribution, in the form defined in the
TOGAF Certification Agreement,
which includes the TOGAF 8 CERTIFIED Product Standard name.
DESCRIPTION
The TOGAF 8 CERTIFIED Product Standard defines the core requirements
for knowledge and awareness of The Open Group Architecture Framework
(TOGAF), Version 8 or 8.11 that IT Architecture practitioners should
have in order to be able to use TOGAF Version 8 effectively in
developing IT Architectures. It is the foundation Product Standard for
other TOGAF 8 Product Standards and is required for architects
delivering certified TOGAF 8 TRAINING courses and certified TOGAF 8
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES.
There are two sets of conformance rules defined in this Product
Standard:

Interim Conformance
This is for a period of three months from the introduction of the
Product Standard and defines a set of transitional requirements for
being certified in order to bootstrap the TOGAF 8 Certification
Program.

Hard Conformance
This involves a strict set of requirements which will be the only
acceptable conformance rules three months after the introduction of
this Product Standard.

for information on which conformance rules are applicable for this
Product Standard.
CONFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
Interim Conformance
For interim conformance either one of the following two sets of
requirements apply:
Hard Conformance
For hard conformance the following apply:

The individual candidate for certification must have fulfilled
satisfactorily the completion requirements of a course, or a defined
configuration of courses from a single family of related courseware,
that is certified as compliant with the TOGAF 8 TRAINING Product
Standard2 (hereafter referred to simply as the "course") either at
the time of attendance, or within 30 days of completion of attendance
by the candidate.

The course must have been listed on the Certification Register as a
TOGAF 8 TRAINING certified product at the time of certification by the
applicant.
OPERATIONAL ENVIRONMENT
Not applicable.
PORTABILITY ENVIRONMENT
Not applicable.
OVERRIDING STANDARDS
There are no overriding standards for this Product Standard.
INDICATORS OF COMPLIANCE
Interim Conformance
For interim conformance either one of the following two sets of
indicators of compliance apply:

Prior Certification to the TOGAF 7 CERTIFIED Product Standard

The individual candidate for certification is listed on the
Certification Register as a TOGAF 7 CERTIFIED individual.

The organization for which the candidate provides TOGAF services has a
valid TOGAF 8.1 Commercial License or TOGAF 8.1 Corporate License.

Prior training course for TOGAF Version 8 or 8.1

Confirmation from the course provider that the individual candidate for
certification has successfully completed a course, or a defined
configuration of courses from a single family of related courseware,
that covers TOGAF Version 8 or 8.1.

The course provider is listed on the Certification Register as having a
TOGAF 7 TRAINING certified product.
-
In the case of training delivered by live instructor(s), confirmation
that the course was of at least four days' duration.

In the case of training delivered by live instructor(s), the names of
the instructor(s) must be declared, and these individuals must
themselves have been listed on the Certification Register as TOGAF 7
CERTIFIED individuals at the time the course was delivered.
Hard Conformance
-
Confirmation from the course provider that the individual candidate for
certification has successfully completed a course, or a defined
configuration of courses from a single family of related courseware,
that is listed on the Certification Register as a TOGAF 8 TRAINING
certified product at the time of attendance by the candidate.

In the case of training delivered by live instructor(s), the names of
the instructor(s) must be declared, and these individuals must
themselves have been listed on the Certification Register as TOGAF 8
CERTIFIED individuals at the time the course was delivered.

The individual candidate for certification must be registered with The
Open Group as having satisfactorily completed the course, either by the
course provider, or by the individual directly, in which case
confirmation will be sought from the course provider.
MIGRATION
As this is the first version of this Product Standard, there are no
migration issues.
