This Product Standard provides LMX server facilities which allow a conformant system to act as a file and print server to a network of DOS-based personal computers.

To conform to this Product Standard, implementations must conform to the protocol definitions contained in the SMB, Version 2 Specification2, and must meet one or both of the additional protocol specifications in that document describing SMB over OSI Transport Profile T6211, and over UDP/IP, as further described in the Guide to the Internet Protocol Suite.3
Implementations must also conform to the SMB protocol requirements specified in the IPC Mechanisms for SMB Specification.
