The objective of this phase is to identify a target architecture that will form the
basis of the following implementation work.

Architecture Development.

Key steps in this phase include:
- Representing the baseline using the TOGAF Foundation Architecture to give a common
starting point
- Considering a number of architectural viewpoints to ensure that all stakeholder concerns
in the required system are considered
- Selecting a high-level model for the architecture
- Establishing a set of criteria for service selection
- Selecting the services required
- Validating that business goals are met
- Defining the architecture in detail; and
- Conducting a gap analysis to identify any missing functionality.
